Street Fashion Week A/W 2017!

As NYFW came to an end, the last hoorah came outta the hood; and served up some street style slaying that showed all the other productions that you don’t gotta ball all the way out to put on an amazing NYFW show… cuz everybody knows that there ain’t no party like a street wear party and a street wear party’s down below! ↓↓↓↓↓

The final presentations came from the likes of Street Fashion Week, an organization of emerging youthful, urban and alternative collective designers whom, like many of the up and coming designers, don’t give a capital “F” Fuck about the capital “F” Fashion lane which excludes them and has way too many damn rules… It’s the “other” guys like these that not only create a community for the “other” side of the industry to come together but also push the boundaries of what is possible while adding in new ingredients to reinvigorate fashion conversations/representations.

Street FW was held at Ludlow Studios in the lower East side of Manhattan, a very small, intimate and minimalistic space… it was actually quite poetic if you think about it in relation to what “urban” culture could be descibed as, and the portrayal of turning almost nothing into something; and something spectacular at that. Street FW was in all of it’s essence absolutely spectacular, it provided a voice (and vision) to a community that is so wildly under looked and presented them in a powerful way. One of my new favorites, David Giampiccolo, (who is revolutionizing the game) combined streetwear with an eccentric, androgynous twist that was absolutely magnificent… mixed in with the sprinkling of gold tooth-fairy dust that was Ex-Mermaid, altogether created a diverse array of styling that is newly emerging in the street wear community.

The event ended with a lovely mix and mingle of designers to show goers, a positively miraculous flow of great energy and harmonious connection. A cherry on top of a fantastic NYFW season if I do say so myself! Thank you Street Fahion Week for having me, you guys are super badass and I look forward to your future events! Did I mention they are coming to LA? See you guys there!
