It’s always been my preference to create my own path and not try to fit any particular mold, especially in the area of my creativity. While I’ve always had my admirations in favors of certain designers/creative’s I’ve really never been one of those people who’ve wanted to I guess “follow in the footsteps” or purposefully recreate similar situations in my own career path or ways that I proceed. I’m very independent and rebellious in that sense…. And let’s be perfectly honest, I can be a lil ig’nant.

Recently I’ve been in a bit of a designers block so I’ve been doin a lotta lookin into the bodies of work of some of my faves. I have to say, you can call it a cliché but Alexander McQueen is hands down the best there ever was. His work literally makes me weep, I know most (all) of us fashionistas know what I’m talking about, I mean good grief his work is simply unparalleled! The man was a revolutionary. Why must every great artist leave us too soon!?

Known internationally as one of the greatest, not only was Alexander McQueen a creative genius, he is one of a kind in relation to his upbringing and the aspects of his success. I deeply recommend you do a little researching into his life if you haven’t already. His story/dedication to his dream will give you an incentive to elevate and relentlessly pursue yours…. It’s twisted inspiration and true conviction in its prime guys! Since his passing, successor and protégé Sarah Burton (if ya didn’t know) seems to be holdin down the fort as CD at McQueen pretty seamlessly, but it will never be what it was.

Hopefully I’ve inspired you to either broaden your horizons and look a bit deeper into your own idols or find connection in one of mine. Future scope I want to share more knowledge on and showcase lesser known underground designers; however given the recent amount of liquefaction that has been pouring from my eyeballs on account of this mastermind I felt compelled to express my eternal love! Rest In Paradise Alexander McQueen, you other worldly being! (1969-2010)
