Over the weekend many empowered business owners and enthusiasts alike gathered for the 5th annual Black Business Women Rock conference and exposition, it provided an exchange of knowledge, resources, and insight to a lot of progressive colored community productions. Black Girl Blog had the pleasure to attend and attest to the magic that BBWR created so if you couldn’t find the time to make it out, here’s a little of what went down….
The event opened as a welcoming mixer where guests could meet and greet, take photos, do a little dance cause the music was fleekydeeky, as well as a bit of exploring of the space; which held many different vendors of products, business services, and business building resources. Once everyone was in a settled, the conference portion began which was split up into two sessions (A & B, with intermissions in between) and held panels of motivational speakers and career counselors. The voices of the panels included: successful business owners, business pros, renowned authors and publishers, movie and television industry pros, and even entrepreneurial celebrities; all providing tools for success. There was even a yoga/meditation portion, which was absolutely wonderful cause uhhh… Can you imagine all those success seeking energies all together with like-intentions under the same roof? Banana sandwich! The thirst was so real, in a good way! You really gotta find your inner Qi to keep your mind on the objective with so much excitement around… (message!)
As I said in my previous post, the theme to this years BBWR event was “unlocking your power and purpose”, so the panel covered topics like: secrets to scaling your own growth, leadership skills, successful family businesses, being unapologetically YOU, and the power in working quietly; with a wrap up by the CEO/founder of Black Business Women Rock, Natalyn Randle who gave her final remarks and expressed her sincere gratitude and love… All in all it was an amazing, powerful and uplifting experience! There could not have been a greater feeling of love and support from everyone who came out. Thank you to everyone who supported the movement, most of all congratulations for stepping up and stepping out! Together we can, and we will! Thank you BBWR for having BGB cover the event, congratulations on the amazing success! Wishing you all the more to come! xoxo
