AFROPUNK FESTIVAL 2017

A blessing can be described as: a majestic group of mythological unicorns… aka AFROPUNK.

Afropunk Festival is a magical cultural phenomenon that occurs every year in Brooklyn, Atlanta, Paris and London; and calls fourth to action every person of marginalization, oppression, highbrows and aesthetes alike to come together in divinity for a weekend of pure expression of Love, individualism, music and exquisite fashion. This year I was blessed to witness the fest in Brooklyn and hooollyyy shiiiittt it was amazing and I’m literally still coming down off of the high after a whole ass week!

Acts were performed by the likes of SOLANGE, Anderson.Paak & The Free Nationals, SZA, Princess Nokia, Jojo Abot, Julianna Huxtable, Willow Smith, Sampha, Protoje, Kaytranada, Sango, Kamau, Little Sims, Macy Gray, Raphael Saadiq, amongst sooo many more incredible artists. The lineup was absolutely incredible; but what’s even more incredible is how many people showed up and exuded the most prolific image of #blackmagic I have ever seen in my entire black ass life. You can watch the news and see how people act (and dress for that matter) in “real life” and come to Afropunk to actually see; and witness brown, black and white faces epitomizing what we as humans are truly put on this earth to do; which is Love and be fabulous!  Aaaannnddddd,

OH.

MY.

GOODNESS.

…were we all so fabulous!

Without much further of me trying to put into words all of the glory that Afropunk was, here’s a slide show so we can all attest to the beauty and divinity thru some of the most ground breaking, earth shattering looks served at AP’17! If you have any sense you will not sleep on this next year (if you’re near Atlanta they are still selling tickets!) and mobilize to be part of this movement! The love is spreading one colorful ass gathering at a time!
